Richard Bartlett – Director
As a youngster I spent a few years after leaving school interspersing ‘menial’ jobs such as road-cleaner, factory work, and refuse-collector with travelling widely by the cheapest possible means. Then I studied Philosophy at university and trained in education. For many years since I have been a teacher, teacher-trainer, and school leader in the UK, Greece, Brunei Darussalam, Germany, and Turkey. I can imagine no other job, as nothing matches the satisfaction of working with our young people and helping to shape their experiences. Whether it is teaching English, Theory of Knowledge, or any other class-based subject I have loved the opportunities I have had. Equally have I enjoyed the football-coaching, Duke of Edinburgh activities, and school trips that have been associated with my career. Great students, great parents, great colleagues! Thus far I feel very fortunate….and also very happy now to be here at ENKA.
